At Butterfly Bakery, we believe that life's celebrations deserve sweet treats. Our team specializes in creating custom and high end cake & pastries for all the moments worth celebrating.
Our bakery is locally owned and operated in Lincoln, Nebraska. We take pride in the work we we do – baking our cakes and pastries fresh and in-house. We value creating a safe and positive work environment for our staff and a welcoming environment for our customers.
Butterfly Bakery was founded in Lincoln in 2009 and acquired by Sunflower House Endeavors LLC in April of 2024, after being sold two times previously. Over those years, Butterfly Bakery has set itself apart through its work in custom and artisan cakes. While cake makes up about 50% of what we do – we also serve fresh breakfast and high-end pastries out of the case 7 days a week.

Butterfly Bakery, and our sister company, Sunflower House Cookies operate under the parent company Sunflower House Endeavors LLC. SHE LLC unites a family of businesses with a shared mission to positively impact the community we serve. COMMUNITY & SOCIAL JUSTICE
Butterfly Bakery has an established legacy of being an inclusive space celebrating and being a safe space for LGBTQIA+ communities. We regularly provide donations to like-minded organizations, fundraisers, and events, and donate a portion of our sales to OutNebraska each June to celebrate Pride month. Additionally, all of our unsold product is donated to FoodNet on a daily basis, a volunteer organization providing perishable food distribution to those in need within Lincoln.
Please understand that we receive several requests for donation every week and while we do our best to respond to each of them, unfortunately, as a small business we are not able to fulfill every donation request we receive.
